The University of Kentucky Chemistry/Physics (98,000 sqft.) project includes the interior renovation of the existing 3rd floor of an active research and teaching building along with 6 new building additions, miscellaneous interior renovations to spaces adjacent to the new additions, full removal of the existing skin and replacement, and a new roofing system. The 3rd floor space was transformed into a state of the art research floor along with supporting spaces such as office, lounges, and conference rooms to allow for more open coordination. The building additions include 2 new entrance atriums, a service elevator, an egress stair tower, loading dock, and rooftop penthouse addition/expansion. This work drastically changed the look of this building as well helped create an optimal environment for research, building efficiency, exterior day lighting, and upgraded campus building infrastructure.
